PATUGA • THE NAME
PATUGA was named in honor and celebration of three precious metals: gold, silver, and platinum. It is an anagram of their periodic symbols of these elements, PT, AU, and AG respectively.
PT is the symbol for PLATINUM derived from the Spanish, platino. Platinum is one of the least reactive metals and only a few hundred tonnes are produced annually due to its scarcity.
AU is the symbol for GOLD derived from the Latin, aurum. Gold has been valuable and used in financial transactions for millennia. This precious metal does not tarnish and is one of the few metals that is not gray or silvery white.
AG is the symbol for SILVER derived from the Latin, argentum. Silver exhibits the highest reflectivity, electrical conductivity, and thermal conductivity of any metal.
